An interesting snippet that came up near the end of the last planning group meeting was when the members were voting to approve the minutes. Normally, it's just a formality in one of the last steps to get to Adjourned in a meeting. In this case, though, the Acting Chair Helene Radzik says that a line in the minutes was never said. The line in question was from Chris Brown (see Montecito Project) stating that they were giving land for the Sun Valley Charter School at their request. Ms. Radzik asked that the statement be removed from the minutes, that it was never said. Bewildered, the Secretary (who rarely makes a mistake on the minutes) later reviewed her notes and found the statement in her notes. She then checked with Maureen at the Sentinel and listened to the tape recording of the meeting and there it was again. But it's all too late, as the group voted to approve the minutes with the line taken out.
I'm not sure what it all means, but Ms. Radzik does serve on the Board for the Sun Valley Charter School and is adamantly opposed to the project - despite what her Board is asking of the developers for the Montecito Project.
